Here we are again!

It's been much too long since I posted! We have been wildly busy as usual, but I keep remembering how much I enjoy looking back on my blog posts- these blogs have really been my baby memory books for the girls since I've never been good at keeping up with real ones.

The girls are growing so quickly and starting to play together more, it makes me so happy.

Eleanor's personality is really coming out. She is starting to say more words and we can tell that she is understanding a lot! She definitely lets us know when she doesn't like something. Very recently she has started giving big hugs and kisses and also mimicking Lillian.  She is also a runner and a climber like Lillian.
Tomorrow Lillian starts her first day of preschool. She is very excited and I'm sure she is going to love it. She is so bright and can already recognize and write most of her letters.  Her wild "threenager" behavior is starting to tone down a little and she is again becoming more enjoyable. She is so strong willed, but also very funny and loving.

Audrey is also great. She started first grade last week and seems very happy. She had a lot of fun swimming this summer and is a really great big sister!

We've had a lot going on especially with transitioning to a new au pair, and me starting a new job! We were sad to say goodbye to Mathilde, but are enjoying having Citlaly with our family.

I'm hoping that my new job is going to allow me more time to spend with our family (and hopefully to update the blog!)

It's almost summer!

Spring felt like it would never come, and summer is just around the corner.

Audrey will be have her last day of kindergarten on Monday.  She has had a great year. She is still very sweet, although she's testing out s mini teenager attitude at times.  She is dramatic and likes to experiment with facial expressions, including her "teenager face."

Eleanor is 1! And took her real first steps today! She is still easy going and officially started sleeping in her crib last week!  She is starting to get a little more assertive though. She really lets Lillian know if she doesn't like what she's doing.

Lillian is growing up fast also.  She is so funny and has so much energy.  She's a smart cookie and today read almost every letter off my shirt. I'm excited for her to learn to read.

Today was Lillian's first ballet recital.  It was pretty adorable.  She did really well and had fun. Audrey had her first ballet I recital, and also seemed to have a great time.

I will post again with photos soon!

End of Winter Fun

This post feels very out of date now that we are in the middle of April!!  I uploaded these photos a couple of weeks ago.  Some of them seem like so long ago now that the weather has finally warmed up.

Here are the girls on one of the coldest days at the end of the winter, ready to go out and play in the snow:
With their "class."

Audrey's newest book. Stinky Feet.
Eleanor being stylish.  She is a very fast crawler now, and is also cruising!  She seems to be consistently saying Mama and Dada, although it tends to be more like Mamama and Dadadada, but she's saying it to the correct people.

Apparently Audrey was not in the mood to play with Lillian:

A fashionable president for President's Day.

Eleanor really enjoys eating now!  She is still mostly on baby foods, but carries on the family tradition of love for bread.

At the Please Touch Museum:

One of Eleanor's favorite activities:

Audrey's sixth birthday!! She is so big and grown up (most of the time).  I can hardly believe it.

Reading to Audrey's class on her birthday.

Audrey's gift from Baba:

The art show at Audrey's art school:

Audrey with her friend Sage at her ice cream themed birthday party (that's a homemade ice cream pinata she's holding!)

This was before Eleanor had quite mastered cruising:

The girls love to read.  Audrey is rapidly advancing and does an excellent job.  And Lillian has a real passion for books, and is starting to recognize letters!  It's all so exciting.

Out to eat with Baba!

At Cheesecake Factory with Baba, eating bread!

The girls also love to pose for photos:

I also have some fun video I need to post, which I will hopefully get done soon!
